And cozykitchenfood is my little corner of the internet!
I launched cozykitchenfood in 2017 while I was still working as a marketing manager in downtown Asheville. I’d been scribbling recipes on napkins during lunch breaks, and one rainy evening I decided to turn those scribbles into something real. The first post was a simple tomato‑basil focaccia that got 120 comments from friends and strangers alike. That response made me quit my 9‑to‑5 and dive into full‑time cooking and writing.
Fast‑forward to today, cozykitchenfood reaches more than 150,000 visitors each month and has a newsletter community of 2,300 home cooks. I’ve published three e‑cookbooks—“One‑Pan Wonders,” “Seasonal Sweetness,” and “Cozy Comforts”—and the site now hosts 78 tested recipes, from quick weeknight dinners to holiday feasts. In 2023 I was invited to demo a live cooking class at the Asheville Food & Wine Festival, and my video tutorials have amassed over 1.2 million views on YouTube.
I live in a modest bungalow on the edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains with my husband, Mark, and our two golden retrievers, Willow and Milo. My favorite things are a steaming mug of coffee on a Sunday morning, hunting for vintage kitchen tools at local flea markets, and hiking the ridge trails when the leaves turn amber. When I’m not in the kitchen, you’ll find me curled up with a good mystery novel or experimenting with new spice blends in the backyard garden.
One quirky habit I’ve picked up over the years is naming every pot I own after a character from my favorite books—there’s “Gatsby” (the cast‑iron Dutch oven) and “Atticus” (the stainless‑steel sauté pan). It keeps the kitchen lively and reminds me that cooking, like storytelling, is all about sharing a piece of yourself with the world.
